Gresham Guitar Teacher – Josh Taylor

It started 20 years ago when I got ahold of an old beat-up guitar and started my musical journey with songs from an American folk song book and and soon took some basic classical piano.  Along the way I picked up some acoustic, worship, rock, blues, metal, and classical guitar.  Went to music school for a couple years, and then started teaching myself and got involved in worship training in Portland.

I now play guitar and piano for worship regularly at Truelife church in Vancouver, Washington, and have set up shop as a guitar instructor in Portland, Oregon.

In the meantime I work as a part-time supervisor at UPS in the way early morning. This keeps me very busy, but I enjoy what I’m doing.

For fun and fitness I bike around the city and hike the trails of the Pacific Northwest. (Here’s my Hiking and nature blog.)

With 20 years experience playing and five years of teaching, I always try to go back to basics when I teach guitar and piano.  I enjoy meeting new students and helping them through the learning process step-by-step giving them fun songs to learn to keep them motivated.
